An Option to Create Non-EAC World Instances
l

The Security Update sets all instances and user gameplay to use EAC. While this helps users who do not like using mods, this does not help users who do like using mods.
To solve this, there should an option to create non-EAC world instances.
This benefits players who do not use mods and who want to be protected from them because, by default, EAC will be required for them and for all instances.
This benefits players who are willing to accept the risks of mods because they have the option to turn off EAC and knowingly expose themselves to third-party code. By default, non-EAC instances would be hidden, this is similar to how Labs worlds are hidden. Portals to non-EAC instances should not be accessible to users who have not chosen to disable EAC. Players who have chosen to disable EAC but who are in an EAC instance cannot use mods because EAC is enforced. This ensures that players who are in an instance with EAC by default are not exposed to mods.
This solution needs to be implemented to promote the security of VRChat as described in the Security Update, and to support the dedicated community members who have been supporting VRChat for years and dedicating their time and effort to the improvement and freedom of the platform.

It's nice to see more creative and unique community solutions to the various EAC issues being proposed. Given that the VRChat Team has doubled down on its decision to integrate EAC, it's much more likely that they'll try to compromise with the community rather than roll back plans now.
Depending on the implementation, this solution could also offer a way to evade any technical problems caused by EAC, such as refusing to verify a user running a certain OS, drivers, etc. Players with these issues could still be able to run VRChat without EAC.
Although the VRChat Team recently shared their plans to implement new accessibility/QoL features, it would still be beneficial to the player base to continue to tolerate mods in some capacity, due to the added features that content creators can add to the base game. This strong community response to a crackdown on mod usage hopefully might lead to a shift in VRChat's (or other VR games') design philosophy and ToS towards acceptance of modded clients.

Idk if that's a possible thing as the EAC loads up with the game. I'm not tech savy so I'm not sure if you can fully disable EAC and any other anti mods in just specific worlds. And would it auto disable mods when you leave that instance? Etc

Erza Sparx: However it gets implemented will be a huge improvement for everyone! ^^
WarPup
Erza Sparx: you can boot the game up with unity without eac, only checks once you try to join a online world, so it might be able to be done

they need to remove EAC completely from the game.

woefulscarf6442: The VRChat team gave us EAC to protect us, but yes, there are users who would like to go to non-EAC protected spaces. This will give you that option. :)

Could be cool but that crap EAC opens with the game, so we would need a separate executable for that.

I would think that non-EAC users would need to be completely blocked from EAC services and servers as some mods can affect users on non-modded clients but users with EAC should be able to opt to go into mod enabled zones with a warning.
Also an additional pair of check boxes would need to be added for assets so that creators can choose to prevent their assets (worlds and avatars) from loading in one environment or the other.

gwaland: Yes, there would be options for the user to manage how they want to be exposed to mods. And if a user does not want to be exposed to mods, they will not have any extra work to do on their end. :) I know the VRChat team can make this work for everyone! ^^

I do not use mods. It also effects pc players. I've noticed me and my pc using friends are not able to open vrchat with it saying something along the lines of "launch error __________"

kendigo_frog123: Fortunately VRChat has given us the Security Update to prevent this from happening to users experiencing this problem :) I am glad they are making VRChat more accessible to players by doing this. This proposal would mean that you, as a vanilla user, would not have to jump through any hoops to automatically be protected by EAC, as a good user-experience would entail. But for those users who do enjoy using mods, they should have the option to use them in an environment where they cannot disturb their friends who choose to be protected by EAC. Thank you for your support!

Or having a different load in option like 'Launch VRChat (with EAC)'

lovi pilowu: bro it's the same thing? One just separates the EAC vers of the game from the normal vers at start up rather than within individual instances
