Adding more Southeast Asian languages, [PHI] Filipino, [MLY] Bahasa Melayu, [INS] Bahasa Indonesia, [BRM] Burmese, [LAO] Lao, [KHM] Khmer
『 MIGI 〣 FIO 』
There is a substantial amount of users that use these languages and it should be an option to display these languages in their profiles.
The language for the Philippines ought to be,
[PHI] Filipino
, this is to adhere to the efforts to be inclusive of all Philippine languages rather than making it Tagalog
or Bisaya
.The addition of two distinct Malay languages should also be considered, both the
[MLY] Bahasa Melayu
and the [INS] Bahasa Indonesia
.The languages of
[THA] Thai
and [VIE] Vietnamese
are also available in VRChat, so the addition of [LAO] Lao
, [KHM] Khmer
, and [BRM] Burmese
should also be made available.More importantly, these should be added as to take advantage of the new profile layout that allows users to see the languages that a user speaks.
TL;DR
Add more Southeast asian languages.
- [PHI] Filipino
- [MLY] Bahasa Melayu
- [INS] Bahasa Indonesia
- [LAO] Lao
- [KHM] Khmer
- [BRM] Burmese

It seems three of these languages have been added to VRChat thanks to this separate post on another thread.
Unfortunately, only Filipino, Bahasa Melayu, and Bahasa Indonesia were added. Which leaves Lao, Khmer, and Burmese absent in the game.

I've requested Tagalog/Filipino years ago
VRChat team already Tracked my request and they approved it.
However there is a confusion as VRChat added 2 of our language Filipino and Tagalog. So I am coordinating with the community for a fix, please check and refer to my new post. Thank you.

NemiKaiser Thank you for pointing this out, with the inclusion of both languages it does unfortunately cause confusion and having a single language option is more optimal.

Sadly VrChat text field doesn't support Khmer. I hope they can support Unicode.

Not sure what's taking this so long. It's just adding new strings of text into the lookup table of languages. It doesn't even require programming and there should be no law issues regarding this.
