[Accessories] Let us create, upload, and share our own accessories
Shaun
Feels a bit like shouting into the void at this point, but vrchat used to be a UGC-focused platform.
Lately, more and more features have been added that don't let us create our own content, going against the whole point of why many people play.
We should not be limited to a handful of vrchat-selected creators and forced to buy their content through the marketplace, EVERYBODY should be able to make their own content.
This also goes for portals, drones, items, and every other anti-UGC feature that has been added recently.
If your content in your shop is so good, you shouldn't be afraid of a little competition from the commumity.

Currently, VRChat sells accessories through VRChat's store.
Sellers would like to create their own accessories in the SDK and sell them on the avatar marketplace.

The sooner you allow users to create assets, the sooner you'll get some stronger goods to sell. Keeping the system restricted to corporate partners who pay you enough money is going to gradually alienate you from your community. Let the creatives work and take your cut from that rather than trying to control the income stream at heavily reduced levels. Cheaper goods mean that people buy things more often, including things they might not even use. Steam shows us every day why this works.

Jagrabbit You put it well. I feel that for the time being this is the best outcome for all parties.
It's been clear to me that items/accessories will not be a free distributable thing like avatars anymore- not after we all saw how much money it all made, and how fast it did so. Which is probably the main reason for the hold up. I see no reality where they can reliably go back from that.
