In Rec Room, there exists the ability to DM friends as well as other users to DM the player. I believe adding this feature could be beneficial to VRC as it'll allow users to keep up with friends, chatting with them even if they are in different instances. VRC Groups, as well as a group of users, could create their own group chats to allow members to communicate with each other while being away in different Instances as well as to stay informed on changes in the group, events, etc. Additionally, if a user is being harassed by another (or group of people) via DMs/Group Chat, they should have the ability to block the user as well as to report the user if necessary. Additionally, the option to agegate group chats should also be available if necessary.

Overall, it would be a neat addition to VRC and would expand the possibilities for social interaction between Users, allowing them to better connect across instances.
