The mic icon being permanently on is somewhat intrusive, however disabling it also makes me lose track of whether it's enabled or not.

I've always wanted it to act like the gesture toggle icon is currently in live (where it fades away after being toggled on/off) but still pop up when I'm talking so I know my voice is being picked up properly.

Toggle off -> Icon pops up showing it's off -> fades away.

Toggle on -> Icon pops up showing it's on -> fades away once you stop talking -> pops back up when you start talking again -> fades away once you stop talking etc.
