[1236] World Discoverability Worsened
blueasis
In the new UI, you are presented with only popular worlds by default, it takes more interactions/clicks in order to discover new worlds.
In contrast to the previous menu where you had a small selection from many different categories, including worlds greenlit & spotlighted.
Not to mention the top worlds on display here are a questionable representation of VRChats content at best.

Possible solution is to have a landing page for the worlds tab which shows a small section of each category, like in the old menu. Clicking on the header for a category (or possibly a More... button) will bring you to that category proper.

default world search also now has a cut off point, so if your world isn't the most relevant or popular of it's kind, people won't see it.

Averiff: Feels like this could be its own canny. good find.

Rather than default to trending entirely, perhaps the "default tab" could go with the older "netflix style" category rows as before, but picking any of the tabs (or the name of any header) moves to a full screen view of only that category.

Personally I don't mind the new UI.
But I'd like to just post an idea that mixes both - how about merging all sections into a single scrollable list just like in the stable version and make the new nav tabs behave as "jump/scroll to section". But it'd also require limiting the results for each section and adding a "Show all" button next to them.

Patroll: UI got better, UX got worse. Im not sure what the solution would be, I just think discoverability was bad enough as is, and this is not helping.

That’s because you are on the trending tab, in my opinion it works better and is more organised. You want to find a new world then you click on the new tab or random tab.

Cһara Dreemurr: Thanks for letting me know I was on the trending tab, I am pointing it out because that is the default tab, which most players will not navigate away from.
I appreciate that its more organised, but it hurts discoverability; hence the title and description. This is about presenting the average new player with more options than what is already popular.
