Description
Currently,
due to oversight
, Quest allows you to set the ranking minimum on Avatar Performance to
Very Poor
.
Per Tupper
this is an oversight to be "fixed".
However
, recent additions to performance and safety in VRChat
are overridden by Show Avatar, as is the Safety System.
Whilst for users using Low or None safety configuration, showing very poor avatars is not recommended,
for those using custom or maximum safety settings, and those applying new additional safety systems in place, letting the safety system take precedence on Very Poor avatars is preferable over using Show Avatar, and can result in an unintended detrimental experience if restricted.
Resolution
For users using
Maximum
or
Custom
safety settings,
only
, offer the ability to set the minimum Avatar Performance ranking to
Very Poor
.
When set
,
display a warning with a confirmation dialog, indicating that showing very poor avatars automatically may reduce overall performance, and will be reset if safety settings are lowered or no longer customized.
Additional Suggestions
Use hardware detection to limit this change to Quest 2, as this may have detrimental effects on Quest 1 hardware.
