I took a video. When you bend your wrist like this, your thumb will close unnaturally.

Hi Noriro! This is a feature of Valve's driver for the Index controllers. It enhances finger expression with other information from the controller such as rotation and position relative to your headset tracking. After the Input2.0 update we now use the skeletal hand data that the Index controllers provide directly, so you can see more finger motion because of this. However, we got feedback that some users prefer the old way, (or some avatars work better with the old way), so there's an option in the Action Menu's "Quick Actions" section, the same place you adjust avatar scale. The option is called "Legacy Fingers" and the toggle is saved per-avatar. You can read more about this in our Input2.0 FAQ under the section "My avatar's fingers look/move weird now, how do I go back to how it was before?" at this link: https://docs.vrchat.com/docs/input-20-faq

Kung Yes. I know about the update and the old version. However, it was only from VRChat build 1606 that the fingers started to open and close depending on the angle of the wrist, as shown in the video. The same thing happens with other avatars. There was no problem during the open beta.

noriro_08 Hmm that's interesting that you didn't observe rotation dependent finger spread until build 1606. We added the Legacy Fingers toggle specifically because users observed this back during the Input2.0 beta (see this post https://feedback.vrchat.com/open-beta/p/finger-splay-on-index-controllers specifically Salbug's first reply to Laxy there). Does turning on the Legacy Fingers toggle solve the issue for you? (It would be unexpected if any change to Index controller finger behavior was added due to build 1606, however the behavior you describe is and has been the expected behavior since Input2.0)

KungI tried that too, but it had no effect on 1606. It's strange that the behavior, which was fine even in the open beta, suddenly changed.

noriro_08 Thanks for the report, that may be a bug then. The Legacy Fingers toggle should definitely have an effect on this behavior
