Hi There,
I'd like to post an issue I'm currently experiencing in-game. This issue involves the "Websocket Exploded" errors which have been popping up since the "Friends-Sync" update. I've been watching the output logs for some time and I've been seeing quite a lot of authentication requests being made. I've uploaded a zip file which contains the output log from windows via the "VRChat Output Log / Crash Dump Submission Form". It's old yes, however this issue has been going on for weeks.
A lot of you will hate me ofcourse when I say the following...
I've been recently playing this game on Linux and the issue is much worse. Output log also uploaded via "VRChat Output Log / Crash Dump Submission Form".
The errors are no different to windows except for the tls handshake failure errors. I'm currently using TLS 1.2 and I'm unsure if VRC is using an older version of TLS or SSL. Linux can be quite strict in security.
I know you'll tell me to switch back to windows or dual-boot. However, Windows has been giving me nothing but problems after problems consistently. I moved to Linux for better system security, performance and development purposes.
Overall, the signs to look out for are the following...
World List --> Nothing loads
Instance List --> Nothing loads
Avatar List --> Nothing Loads
Social --> Completely stops refreshing and may sometimes appear as offline as a result of the connection issue. Also, failing to update status and user icons.
Portals --> Pretty much forever stuck.
The temporary fix to this is to restart the client completely to have everything work. After a while, it'll get disconnected from API websockets and you basically have to restart again. This roughly happens every 5-30 minutes.
Constantly checking social/world lists will keep the connection alive for a bit longer it seems.
If there's any Linux-based users out there who are also experience this issue or did experience it but fixed it, please let me know. I would like this issue to be resolved A.S.A.P.
Thank you.
