Ive only recently been having this issue, whenever i launch VRChat from quest link it immediately shows a message saying that version 1472 is needed when 1470 is installed, although the link software wont show an update being available for the app
Ive tried reinstalling the game both on quest and steam, clearing my cached data in VRChat and verifying the integrity of my files on Steam, non of it worked
Is there any way on fixing this issue?

This is an issue with the Meta PC software or your Steam installation. Version 1472 (2024.2.3p2) has been available on all platforms since last week and your platform's auto-update system should have kicked in.
I recommend using Steam over the Meta PC version of VRChat, since updating usually works much smoother.
As others have recommended too, clearing your Steam cache, validating your install, uninstalling and reinstalling VRChat, or simply fully rebooting your PC may help force an update.
I'll close this ticket as this is not something fixable on our side. For further questions, feel free to reach out to our user support team at https://vrch.at/support

_tau_ for people using the meta software, quest headsets with airlink or a link cable, or the older rift headsets. SteamVR version of VRChat runs like trash in that situation.
If you are going to discontinue support for the meta store please make an OpenXR version of VRChat. Then the game can be distributed via steam but plug into the appropriate software.

Docteh Nobody is talking about discontinuing anything here, I just mentioned that updates are usually more reliable on Steam. The Meta PC version is also up to date and should be available.
That said, I use cable link with the SteamVR version myself and am experiencing no issues whatsoever.

someone did this way and managed.
- uninstall VRChat steam build
- restart your pc
- uninstall meta build of vrchat
- reinstall meta build of vrchat
maybe work
if you don't have steam build, just uninstall, restart, then install again may works.

I'm also having this issue except I've only ever run the game through the Meta desktop app and don't have VRChat installed on Steam at all. When I load up, I get a screen saying I have version 1471 and I need 1472 to play, but the button to Update is unclickable. I tried loading in desktop mode (again, through Meta app) thinking maybe I could click it then, no dice. Uninstalled the game, reinstalled fresh from the Meta app, still same result. Stuck on this screen.
Edit: Completely restarting my PC between uninstalling and reinstalling the game got me back in (I also installed from the headset side of the Meta App, but that probably doesn't make a difference).
