I also use AMD GPU RX5700 8G,
There were no issues before the update.
There is a continuous delay every second after the 2024.2.2 update...
I did various tests and confirmed that this problem occurred after updating.
My situation is that whenever loading other worlds, there is a delay every second.
But if you stay in the default home world when you first log in to your account, it will work fine.
This means I can't travel to other worlds...T^T

Means the fix will be available in next beta? The one that just released, or another one ?

ColdTheFoxo I just tested the open-beta on Steam, and from my quick testing it appears the issue is fixed in Desktop and VR Mode.
The open-beta is also network compatible, so we can use that until the fix is on live.

Problem still occurs after the June 3rd, 2024 update, Build 1458.
Also for the previous build:
I have a friend with the exact same hardware as me (5800x3D+6700xt), who does not seem to experience the problem in Desktop or VR mode.
I tried downgrading my video driver (24.5.1 Full) to their exact version (23.10.2 Minimal), but the problem still occurred for me. We both have MPO (Multi-Plane Overlay) disabled.
The only other thing I can think of is their ancient Windows 10 version (on winver):
Mine: Windows 10 Version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.4412)
Them: Windows 10 Version 1903 (OS Build 18362.1256)

Small update! Did a bit of testing in PCVR, and after turning on the performance/debug tools using OculusDebugTool, I can see the issue is almost always occurring after switching worlds once.
This video is a very subtle example. The problem DOES get worse, where the FPS dips do show up in the game FPS.

I'm having this same issue, but it's a bit more subtle. It affects both Desktop and PCVR. 5800x3D + 6700 xt. I first noticed the problem in VR, so I came hunting here.
isao's reproduction steps seem to work, BUT the FPS dips don't begin until you load into the next world.
These are the exact steps: I open the game, I go to big menu, and just click on the tabs on the bottom like crazy (+100 clicks). I just cycle from left to right tabs and then back. Then I rejoin the world, and have FPS dips every second.
Once it's occurring, I can even see the FPS dips on the "Connecting" screens with the debug menu open, after switching worlds yet another time.
I assume the problem is more obvious and obnoxious on slower CPUs.

Yes, my PCVR does that too
After all, it all runs on PC
After several days of constant testing, I found
Restart without closing the game
Just log out of your account and log back in
It will return to its original smooth operating condition
But this doesn't solve the problem very well
After all, once she changes to another world, she will become abnormal
I hope the relevant departments can improve this problem as soon as possible T^T

isao(勲)thank you, that should help a lot since reopening VRChat takes forever.
I hope they can come up with a solution quickly too.

I did more testing
I found that after just switching a few times on the menu page
This irreversible delay will accumulate
In addition, every time the esc menu is opened, there is a lag phenomenon.
