bump as it happens still in the recent steam input 2.0 update… best solution is to just move the holograms of the controller to a completely different layer from the mirror and camera.

They also appear within eyesight and the VIVE controllers also do.

The issue occur after controllers sleeping for a long time.

If you're taking a photo and don't want it to show up in the photo there is an inconvenient workaround. If you keep the camera in your hand for, I don't know exactly, more than 10-ish seconds, the outline will eventually disappear. And then you can take the photo.

It happens specifically when the controllers get close to something you can interact with. For example your camera or anything else like buttons or pickupable items. This bug was persistent back in August last year for almost an entire month where the outline was visible all the time regardless or where the controllers were. It was finally fixed partially. It still happened randomly. In order to try to "fix" the issue one had to restart the game multiple times until randomly at one point it wouldn't happen. Lately it seems it happens more often to the extent that I can't remember when was it the last time that it didn't.

Never really understood why these were needed to show up so constantly regardless. Was one of the things that stopped me using them for VR-Chat and going back to Vive wands.

I'd want to turn these off entirely, I'm well aware that I'm using index controllers, I do not need a reminder.

This has been an issue since I got my Index, when they first came out.

I would love a option to toggle this completly off, mabe combine this with "Show tooltips", at least fade out faster.

chiming in here. this is especially frustrating when taking pictures.
