While using the Windows Japanese keyboard (not a physical keyboard but an input method), I can't cancel the chatbox text input by pressing the ESC key. In contrast, I can while using the US keyboard.
  • I'm not sure when exactly it was, but the recent update seems to change this behavior relating to a series of fixing IME issues.
  • This issue is not limited to the chatbox dialog. Maybe all text input dialogs have the same issue. But it is troublesome, especially on the chatbox, since desktop users usually open the dialog by typing the "y" key without mouse operations.
What I could observe:
  • With the US keyboard, you can close the chatbox input dialog by typing the ESC key.
  • While using the Japanese keyboard, the cursor disappears just after typing ESC. After this, you can't close the dialog even if switching to the US keyboard.
  • If the cursor is shown, you can switch to the US keyboard and close the dialog with the ESC key, even after inputting Japanese text.
  • While the curssor is not shown, the cursor sometimes comes back by typing arrow keys. If the cursor returns, you can close the dialog after switching the US keyboard.
  • It is not clear what steps to take to make the cursor appear again, but alternating long pressing of the left and up arrows seems to work.
  • (If you click the input field, the cursor will always appear again.)
