I don't like having my mic displayed when playing. I used to use a mod that only showed my mic when I was muted, and kept it from flashing when muted. This was a good solution. Implentation of something like this is probably far from soon as it's not as important of a change, but at least make it so you can turn off your mic icon without turning off your whole HUD.
