Search input field won't show anything when typing non-english character

I would like to add some info.
- This happens in both MM > Search and MM > Settings. The search itself seems to work properly.
- If I enter both English and non-English (Japanese characters in my case) characters, it only shows preceding English characters and the tailing part (including English characters) becomes an ellipsis (three dots). (see the images)
- Preferred Languageoption doesn't affect this issue. I see identical behavior when selecting English and Japanese.
