Performance of the Quest version of VRChat is worse than before./Quest VRChat's performance is worse than before

The Performance of the Quest version of VRChat is more than before (about half a year ago), with worlds that used to get 20 to 30 FPS, but are now very heavy at around 10 FPS, due to The update.
Even with Batches 200/ Tris 1.0M on clientSim, the load is very high on the actual Quest 2 devices, making it difficult to create content.
Regarding the Quest version of VRChat, the part that previously (about six months ago) was showing about 20 to 30 FPS, but now the performance is worse than before, probably due to an update, it becomes extremely heavy at around 10 FPS, etc.
Even if it is Batches 200/Tris 1.0M on ClientSim, the load is extremely high when running on an actual Quest 2 device, making content production difficult.

Upon attempting to login today, the VRChat logo spinning for what seemed an eternity. As soon as that disappeared, the green buggle standby screen freezes in front and left with black darkness all around. Neither restarting the app or headset resolve the issue. Is there something up with Meta / VRC establishing connection today?
SwaMusic
Mind you, this is on Quest 3 which has increased performance compared to the 2 but what could be causing this is beyond me. Was able to launch the app just a few nights ago.

With Unity 2022.3, Quest performance seems to have deteriorated extremely.
SwaMusic
100の人: Can confirm. Before 2022 was live, the Quest 3 had pretty decent performance. Seems this update has indeed resulted in poorer performance. :/

SwaMusic: Chances are this ticket was tracking some performance regressions we had around April of this year. Unity 2022 has only caused an increase in performance, according to our investigations!
If you have any idea of specific instances where perf got worse though, we'll happily dig into them. There's always a chance something got missed.
One known thing that should be getting better was load time for some very specific worlds - that should be improving as people reupload with the newer SDK.
SwaMusic
Feilen: I have not tested since the Quest 3 released but the profiling I was reading via the Snapdragon tools appeared to just have issues with flushing memory on the 2. Will perform some further tests midweek and return here with readouts!

The patch notes for the recent update stated "Performance issues on Quest Standalone have been fixed", but there was no improvement in performance on the following two worlds.

I'm starting to think there's a Memory Leak on Quest side. Every time I get on, even when clearing cache, I get the error "not enough memory to run vrc"
I rarely used to get this, after the lastest updates I get it every day, multiple times.
Blue_Phoenix23
The memory leak has still not been fixed as of July 3rd, 2023
SwaMusic
Blue_Phoenix23: Memory leak still not fixed as of September 26th, 2023, both on Live and Open Beta Quest builds.
No crunch compression and world is at 41.9MB.
Leading me to believe I am experiencing the same memory leak issue.
I never had this issue on the Quest 1.

Below is an example of a world where the frame rate was fine before, but the VRChat update caused a very low FPS, which interfered with viewing.

you mention that it was half a hear ago, and exactly 6 months ago in october vrchat released ui 2.0 and never had any noted stability updates since then. that ui was the catalyst of the performance deterioration. the second biggest drop was the addition of the friends joining notifications with no option to disable, those messages caused huge lag spikes like usual when ppl join but now it would be more likely to crash you as well. and now with april 13ths 2023.2.1 update many of us are not able to get into other worlds at all. also a lot of these people with the worst performance after april 13th claim to either be in the midwest or texas.
im not expecting them to bring stability back to what it was 6months ago but this recent update is most important to focus on a fix because its making the game unplayable for many, and since the exact date lines up directly with 2023.2.1 then reverse engineering should allow them to know exactly where to look (at only the recent additions)

I have noticed the increase in crashes and lag, and a drop in performance specifically after the last 2 updates. This NEEDS looked into before it gets any worse.

It seems like the crashing on Quest tends to happen the most when someone either joins the world or changes avatars. Instead of crashing to the Quest home like it used to, the game freezes and repeats the last 10 seconds or so of audio. If the game is closed during a crash, it usually says in the Quest home that there was not enough memory to run vrchat. If joining a world with a large amount of people, I usually get kicked back to my home world with vrchat saying it ran out of memory.
Blue_Phoenix23
VoxUmbra: I too, get this error, even clearing cache and restarting the headset almost hourly to do so, supposedly the limit on quest is 4GB but I still get said error at 100kb or even lower. I think there's a Memory Leak/memory error inside the programming of the quest build.

Hey, quick update!
We are aware of a performance drop across the platform for Quest users, and it is a high priority for us at the moment. We have some leads, but if anyone has additional info, please let us know so we can get this fixed as soon as possible. Either way, this is receiving active work at the moment as well.

In any world me or my friends join (regardless if they are on pc or quest) EVEN IN THE SMALLEST WORLDS me and my friends all lag. What did you do? Can you revert this back to the past update to fix this?
