Intermittent BSOD occurring only in VRC 0x1A memory management
needs more information
Jefftheme
- Either happens immediately after launching VR chat or after taking my headset off for an extended period of time. Oddly enough, this only happens in VR chat no other game I own will do this.
- I've ruled out this being hardware related by running memtest 86 on my ram, updating my bios and corroborating it with someone else's findings on the VR chat forms which can be found here https://ask.vrchat.com/t/recurring-bsod-0x1a-memory-management/48768
- This has been happening to me for sometime guessing maybe two or three months now and I haven't been able to find a workaround for it.
I'd appreciate it any attention this gets and if you need anything else from me, I'm here :)

I dealt with this for a couple of weeks off and on, specifically launching VRChat (and the very rare time during). I could usually get it to trigger semi-consistently if I was at a moderate to high CPU load while launching the game (also still happened with low or no load at all).
Everything I could find online, and checking some of the dump files, pointed to it being an EAC issue. Though, like OP, this affected
only
VRChat and not any other EAC games.Ran similar stress tests with my hardware, disabling any overclocks, etc. Nothing was wrong, and the issue persisted.
Weirdly enough, my 'fix' was enabling Memory Integrity under Core isolation in Windows Security (despite it allegedly sometimes causing issues with EAC). I'd assume now Windows is blocking EAC from accessing somewhere in memory it shouldn't be. Since then, no more BSOD or anything outside of the normal crash here and there from large instances.
There may be other games out there that have this similar issue, but everything from my experience, points towards this being a VRC EAC issue specifically (maybe with newer builds of Windows?).

i started getting this after upgrading my Windows 11 to 25H2, rolling back to an older 23H2 boot image backup i made last month fixed the crashing.

I get these a lot, although im thinking it might be more of a possible hardware issue

Any logs or crashdumps from when this happens?
Jefftheme
StormRelYes I have many Minidumps files from these crashes but i'm unsure where I should upload them. Would a Google Drive link work?
Edit: I've uploaded all the related windows dumps that have only occurred while in VR chat to Google Drive. I Understand that these dumps point towards hardware issues. But I can assure you, I've ruled out any possibility of it being that. I appreciate your quick response to the matter and look forward to hearing from you soon :)

Jefftheme: Can you send them in via a support ticket? https://help.vrchat.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Just link to this post in your ticket.
Jefftheme
StormRel sure thing, ticket created. Thanks again for your continued attention :)

I've also seen this happen, usually when closing the game.

I also have been having this same issue but haven't had the time to investigate further
