This is a post dedicated for discussion about various VRChat connection issues in Russia.
The Problems:
Right now, most connection issues can be split into three categories:
  1. VRChat services isn't accessible at all or partially due to large CDNs bans (Cloudflare) by RKN. Symptoms:
  • VRChat web site isn't loading or loading partially.
  • Can't login into VRChat on its start (just empty green screen, no errors);
  • Some API responses isn't loading (Friends, world lists, ...);
  • Assets (including images on the site) isn't loading
  1. VRChat blocks some VPNs, so services aren't accessible. Symptoms:
  • Can't login into VRChat on its start (just empty green screen, no errors);
  • VRChat shows errors about IP being blocked.
  1. General connection interruptions. Symptoms:
  • Can login and connect instances but randomly disconnects from the instance once per few minutes.

As you can see in the comments,
there is entire zoo of various errors
, most of them
non informative
at all and/or
breaks VRChat until full restart
.
In most cases, when connection with the instance isn't interrupted, I see
no reason to not simply re-connect
to the API and websockets in background just making passive non modal info popup about connection being re-established.
VRChat should not hang or lock itself due bad connectivity and must be sustainable.
