Game randomly causes high GPU Bus usage

Over the last two months or so, I and several of my friends have noticed recurring issues with unbearable lag in populated lobbies, particularly when VRAM usage approaches its maximum capacity. This lag is often accompanied by a significant spike in GPU bus usage, as reported by SteamVR, which can surge from an average of 15% to well over 40% for minutes at a time before returning to normal. It's worth noting that these problems have occurred on hardware we would typically consider 'good.' For reference, you can find the video and specifications attached below. We also encountered a much worse version of this issue during the open beta, although I neglected to record the specific build number, so I won't include that information.

Been having this issue recently as well, it will drop FPS and lag for 5-10 seconds before catching back up. Opening up the Steam menu after I've been in VRChat for awhile will cause everything to freeze until it is closed.

AyumiKoi: yep yep, same issue ive been getting any steamvr bindings are effectively a crash button for me, its so bad to a point where I can jump in-front of my friends in VRC and hold my reset offsets button and ill freeze midair for them from how badly my game handles, its even worse now that the beta has been pushed to live with unity 2022.

I've come across this problem too. This seems to happen to me if I bring up the SteamVR overlay (Sometimes it's fine, sometimes it's not it seems to be very random when this happens).
However, I've noticed that sometimes even when not having the SteamVR menu up my FPS just tanks to almost 2-3 from a normal 70 and my GPU/VRAM usage spikes to 100%.
This also seems to happen when unloading worlds going from a busy world with people to an empty world causes the whole game to hang for 5 minutes then will recover and be fine

Tuqiri: yeah Ive mentioned this as well below as additional notes, its why i now refer to Steam VR bindings as "crash buttons" since using any long press form SteamVR buttons result in the entire game just freezing until I close it, only way i can use the dashboard is to quickly empty Vram by either leaving the world to one that is less populated or leave the area until LOD kicks in, this is present in both old and new steamvr dash 1.0 and 2.0, aswell as live and beta vrc, even more so after 2022 was pushed to live.

I can also confirm this is an issue on build 1373 Unity: 2022 and it is far more unbearable as i had experienced in the beta

Additional notes, when this issue occurs opening SteamVR menu will cause the game to freeze until you close it again, input is not blocked but the entire UI thread freezes, this also applies for SteamVR bindings that require a long press to activate, this does not occur in other games I have tested

I have been experiencing the same for the last few months. It freezes up for 1 or 2 minutes and then somehow recovers. It seems to always happen right when a new avatar loads in.
Not completely sure if its the same issue though.

Mixieǃ: ive been noticing it happening whenever any sort of texture streaming happens, like on the beta for example even opening my action menu caused me to drop frames.
