Emojis/Stickers Are Lower Res On Remote Client vs Local
available in future release

UGC (Emojis/Stickers) will be lower res by likely 1/2 on the remote user vs what the local user sees.
While this contains beta content this issue does not pertain to the beta exclusively such as emojis are affected.

The downscaling for remote stickers was intentional, mostly for RAM/VRAM saving reasons.
We have however decided that for PC players the benefit is too small, so we removed the restriction there. Stickers on PC will now always show as 1024x1024 locally and remote, unless the sticker itself was uploaded at a lower resolution.
On mobile platforms, including standalone VR, remote stickers will still be loaded at a maximum of 512x512 pixels for the same memory reasons. Local stickers will stay at 1k even on mobile, as before. The resolution of standalone VR headsets makes the difference harder to spot regardless.
The same change was applied to Custom Emoji, although on mobile platforms only _animated_ emoji will be loaded at 512x512, non-animated remote emoji will be scaled down to 256x256, as more of those can be on the screen at one time (usually).

_tau_ I mentioned this on emojis so long ago but friends called me crazy. I KNEW IT AAAA.
TY.
Kazy
Does this apply to stickers already uploaded at 512/256? Or just the ones at 1k?
Feilen
Kazy I believe they're downrezzed on the fly by the API, so it'll still be full res in the cloud!
Kazy
Feilen I meant, if I upload at 256x256, would it still be downrezzed?

[1514] Stickers sometimes low res for remote users
ZenithVal
Sometimes stickers you place appear at very low resolution for remote users.
Below are images of the same text on a sticker for different users. (Ignore the post processing color shifting)

The question for this report is what is the intended look.
I'd prefer if both remote and local had the same lower res version.
Salbug
zexc at the very least, some consistency across both versions.
