'Do Not Disturb' status invite/request: Unusable in current state
complete
Takkun the Cat
Previous functionality of the 'Do Not Disturb' (DnD/Red) status allowed requests to be sent and approved. At some point the behavior was changed making it impossible to make a request to a friend without first leaving DnD for Ask Me, then switching back to DnD after the returning invite has been sent. Effectively prior, DnD could be used to deny all requests automatically and allow me to curate my own engagements without other's influence, and now I'm forced to notify others I've swapped status to move locations which prompts unwanted on and off platform engagements. The only way around this now is to get a world link from the other person and self invite for every world move I plan to do which tedious and annoying for both me and others.
This fundamentally changes the game for anyone who makes persistent or frequent use of the DnD status, making it more of a disturbance to use it than not.

Can you clarify what the issue is here? It's worded in a confusing way.
Can you include repro steps and expected outcome?

Repro:
User 1: goes red, request of User 2
User 2: Response with invite
Expected: User 1 should have a notification with the invite. (This is how it was in the past)
Currently: No notification

StormRel Let me preface by saying that this behavior is inconsistent between logins. Some days I get expected behavior, other days I don't. Some days I get expected behavior for a few hours then the problematic behavior begins. This behavior tracks between use on different devices, accounts, and networking setups.
Expected:
User 1 - Be on red status
User 1 - Request invite from User 2
User 2 - Receive request from User 1
User 2 - Accept request from User 1
User 1 - Receive return invite from User 2
User 1 stayed on red status the whole time
During problematic behavior:
User 1 - Be on red status
User 1 - Request invite from User 2
User 2 never receives any request notification
Workaround:
User 1 - Switch from red to orange status
User 1 - Request invite from User 2
User 2 - Receive request from User 1
User 2 - Accept request from User 1
User 1 - Receive return invite from User 2
User 1 can switch back to red status once return invite has been received
Problem with workaround:
User 1 - Switch from red to orange status
User 1 - Request invite from User 2
User 2 - Receive request from User 1
Before User 2 accepts User 1 switches back to red status
User 2 - Accept request from User 1
User 1 never receives return invite from User 2
Something about red status is canceling/disallowing the notifications/invites/requests to actually get sent through. I haven't been able to figure out how to forcibly reproduce because it's login roulette on whether it happens. I've been encountering this issue for quite a while though so I'm sure I'll see it again. I'm not sure how many other people play exclusively from the red status to help diagnose this.
I recorded a video detailing this behavior before I realized the upload limit was only 8mb. As of posting, tonight doesn't seem to be one where the issue is happening, but when I catch it again next I'll record the failure behavior and reply here.

When a user in Do Not Disturb sends an invite request, a two minute timer starts. If the other user does not reply with an invite within this two minute timer, the invite is not shown to the user in Do Not Disturb. To help us with diagnosis, do you know if this is the case you're seeing, where the other user is taking over two minutes to reply with an invite?
This timer does not apply when the invite request is declined with a message rather than accepted, which appears to be an oversight.

Dexvoid we are quicker then 30s with the whole test procedre, we are not taking 2 or more minutes. I actually thought it's 10 minutes, because the notifications stays for 10 minutes

Dexvoid I had to retract a lot of stuff due to character limit in the last message or I'd have detailed this point before apologies. When repeating these steps while the issue is in effect, the notifications never come through. It's by proxy immediate or however fast it takes for the request to come through as there is no request to accept. To answer question directly, within the two minute timer you've stated. Declines are not something I'm testing for as in practice it doesn't matter to me if the request is declined or ignored, but by extension of no notification being present it wouldn't be able to be declined either.
Maybe of note as I hadn't stated it prior, this issue happens across both desktop and vr modes in addition to the other variables from previous post.

I tested this, it seems like that negative responses are still working, but invites as a response seems not to work anymore.

Hackebein That behavior tracks with what I was seeing correct. Ty for testing!
