Complete frame loss with mouse movement.

Desktop mode, started happening maybe last or recent update and my only clue I've heard it's something to do with EAC or mouse sensitivity. I use 3.2K DPI, but changing the value did not appear to help. The effect is unnoticeable when you begin existing, but it just gets worse. It appears to happen on any world. After a while of existing, the symptoms manifest in full effect.
Example: I join any random world, game operates at 40–60 fps, I shake my mouse really fast side to side and the frames drop completely when the mouse is in motion and the frames are updated only in the far left and right positions of shaking, or the displayed fps goes to 10 or worse. Walking around is entirely smooth but if panning your view with your mouse is introduced to the locomotion, the frame is completely frozen and waits until I stop moving it, and it is updated again, making the effect look like teleporting.
I hope I explained this well.
(attachment size limit) I also recorded and uploaded an unlisted YT video to showcase the effect: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8N7BRIOS5mU
Not recording game or using discord overlay.
I don't think gpu is a problem here, but I did update it not so long ago and maybe the up-to-date one was just caca, so I decided to just try lowering to older gpu driver (from rtx 4060 591.74 game ready driver to 581.57 studio driver.) The issue still manifests the same way within some minutes.
Hopefully any of this info is useful and I would provide more if needed.

I can easily recreate this is issue by switching to another program and back to VRChat 20 times.
Every time VRChat is selected as the active application the performance gets slightly worse.
I attached a video showing it.
But this issue does not happen on every PC.
A friend has this issue too but only on his main PC. His other PCs are not affected by this issue.
We couldn't narrow down to what hardware or even software in combination with VRChat is causing this.
Here are my PCs specs:
Win 11 Version 24H2
Ryzen 9800X3D
Nvidia 5090 with driver version 581.57
1440p 120Hz Monitor
Here is also the log file from the session from the video.

If possible, could someone who is able to reproduce this try it in Build & Test mode? That is, launch a world (any world will do) from the SDK and sit in that a while to see if it still happens.

Can you provide logs from when this happens?

StormRel There's logs from Breastie in the comments, but it's missing Performance Sampling data capture from the debug UI (RShift + Tilde + 1, or the button in Quick Menu - Settings - Toggle Debug UI).

I log in on desktop mode and looking left and right or walking in any direction isn't smooth. I have noticed that physbones are affected too. Everything else is fine, I can use the menu, see and hear people. I also tried the open beta, the 3rd person beta and the public branch and same issue occurred.

[1783] drastic performance degradation over time with mouse movement inputs
Ronsterwars
Since the last couple weeks I have a performance issue when I'm playing VRChat in Desktop mode.
When ever I move my mouse to look around it drastically stutters and my FPS drop to single digits.
This also depends on how long the game has been running.
After 10 min it only drops from 120fps to around 100 but after 60 min I'm at sub 1 fps and the audio even cuts off. But when I stop looking around, my FPS stabilise instantly back to 120fps
This issue only happens with mouse inputs. When I use the keyboard keys to turn left or right my fps stay at 120.
My fps also drop when I open any menu in game and move the cursor.
I did some more tests and found out:
- This issue does not happen when I'm in VR.
- background Log collection is turned off

Issue seems to be linked to tabbing in and out multiple times
Performance will degrade even without other players in the world
Just alt tabbing between steam and vrchat is enough.
When connecting a non logitech mouse for the first time and using that - the issue seems gone - till a few alt tabs later its happening there too

I have noticed that VRChat is not lagging when I open the camera. I can then turn the camera or my avatar with the mouse without the game lagging.
I have also recorded a video that showcases everything.

I tried some more things:
(In both Nvidia app and control panel made sure:...)
Low latency mode = off
Vertical sync = controlled by game
Max framerate = off
Steam, Discord, Nvidia overlays all off.
No OBS running.
Turned off HDR.
Quit Logitech G HUB and Steelseries GG completely from background.
Turned off Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling and restart puter.
Turned off windows setting for enhanced pointer precision.
Launch option: '-force-d3d11-no-singlethreaded'
Then I tried playing with second monitor unplugged which seems like it may have worked, but I think it only made it take perhaps twice as long for the effect to manifest fully - Just moving the mouse in the esc menu while looking towards a 100 fps view makes the fps easily dip to 10-20 still. I think maybe the 2nd monitor is a clue at least. I think definitely not just fps problem, rather that's the symptom and maybe it's just easiest thing for now to measure this with.
Frame time / Present blocking issue triggered by high-frequency mouse input?
After this monitor unplug test, I disabled variable refresh rate setting in windows graphics settings and restarted. Still happens. Looking at the 3D graph of the GPU in performance tab of task manager and producing this effect seems to dip the graph entirely to the ground if that points to anything?
In conclusion: None of this eliminated the problem yet.

That's a good point! It should show around 7.8 GB. The driver updates sometimes change the processor on their own, and I end up checking the nvidia control panel lastly whenever this happens, going through every other option. I have corrected it and I went to hang out in default world to prepare the log. Unfortunately I could see that the mouse movement issue, however, still manifests after a while.
