Chatbox rate limiting too aggressive

Ever since the chatbox "Send Text Automatically" live typing feature came out, I feel like I've been rated limited much more often just trying to chat normally. The chatbox stops working for maybe a minute, and the worst part is there's no indication that you've been rate limited, or when it's fine again.

This is indeed a problem! Especially when there's nothing that states me and the rest when it happens. At best, they think I'm typing something long, and at worst they think I'm just typing and deleting what I'm typing out of regret.
Even out of the accessibility angle, I need to communicate through text because it lets me chat at night when my family doesn't want to hear me talk, even when I try to speak as quietly as possible.

I had the same problem, as someone who is medically unable to speak and finds chatbox essential for communication, typing normally and then very suddenly being stopped from communicating mid conversation has been very irritating. It has gotten to a point I sign to friends that my chatbox is broken! something recognisable by most people who know me well.
Sometimes it will stop working, I will type one or two words and mid typing I will again no longer be allowed to type.
This is all while people have constantly misuse chatbox by using magic chatbox and seem to have no issues.

Came here to report this myself. My friend and I, both on desktop, were conversing casually but getting ratelimited, most likely due to the "Send Text Automatically" feature being enabled.
I don't see why the chatbox ratelimits are so restrictive. They're also impairing to the use of chatbox (and possibly other?) OSC updates. The lack of transparency surrounding the ratelimit algorithm makes the functionality unpredictable and thus unreliable.
I would prefer to be able to send chatbox updates at least twice a second, with some leeway/burst functionality also possible - without adding a cooldown unless further exceeded. It would be helpful at least for debugging purposes if there was some exposure via OSC of what ratelimits are in effect.
As another example, an application that provides heart rate data in the chatbox might also want to support the use of the chatbox for sending regular in-game messages - the ability to read the chatbox content would allow this.
