Billboard trees disappear in VR

In VR mode, the trees placed in Terrain will disappear regardless of the billboard start distance.
Desktop mode does not have this problem.

Seeing as there was actually a developer response on one of these years ago, what is the status on this? VR mode simply does not have billboard tree shaders loaded, and you actually see an error in the log for it not being found.
