Avatar Hand Tracking Issue After Recent Update (Fingers Bent Backwards)
IceTheWicker
Hello VRChat Support,
I’m reaching out to report an issue I’ve been experiencing in VRChat after the most recent update. Specifically, when I use any avatar, the hands are severely misaligned, with all of my fingers appearing bent backwards. This issue makes it very difficult to engage in gameplay or use any in-game gestures. Here are the details of my setup:
Headset: Pimax 5K Super (running SteamVR)
Controllers: Valve Index controllers
CPU: AMD 9700X
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4080
RAM: 96GB DDR5
Storage: 4TB M.2
The hand tracking issue affects all avatars, and I’ve tested several to rule out the possibility of an avatar-specific problem. The fingers consistently appear bent backward in-game, and the controller tracking seems misaligned and out of sync. This issue is unique to VRChat, as I have not encountered similar problems in other VR applications or games.
Additionally, I’ve noticed minor tracking issues that began after the release of the latest Pimax Play tool, which might be contributing to the problem.
I would appreciate any troubleshooting steps or assistance you can provide to resolve this issue.
Thank you for your time and support.

The issue has been resolved! Just had to update the Pimax play tool to the latest version which can be found here: https://pimax.com/pages/downloads-manuals

Very useful! I have solved the problem.
I am also a Pimax user (Pimax Crystal), thank you!
I also encountered this issue without updating PimaxPlay. But I reinstalled the same version of PimaxPlay and the problem was solved.
