[1375] Pico VRChat Problems / Bugs
available in future release

- Loading screens are still broken on Pico. You cannot even see the world image. It's one big white block. This must fixed because it's very ugly view.
- Second, the Pico Controllers don't align correctly on hands. They're a bit off, more forward. Pointing is still oke, it's just weird to see it. Need adjust it.
(!) I know Pico4 has higher clocked chip, but it has bit worser FPS result compared to Quest 2. Hope next Pico builds will more optimized for it. Thanks to bigger memory, worlds are more smooth to rotate around. I will do more FPS tests with my headsets (P4-Q2-Q3 in home) so i can find out what is not well optimized.
- Your own name tag is kinda weird in 3D, its not correct rendered so you see sort of "double" tag. It's not pleasant view with "wrong" 3D view. Normal player name tags are fine, it's just your own name tag is bit weird. Name tag in Q2/Q3 are fine.
- It has still Quest tag, while you have made for Mobile version own tag. So we should have own Pico tag for it. Not a bug, just mention it.
Good start for Pico, world loading are fine, but it's on Quest 2 level, so sharpness is not there. (Quest 3 is way much sharper), so in graphic wise, hope this can better because Pico can bit more than Quest 2.

Hello! Thanks for reporting this. A number have updates have gone out since this post, could you confirm this issue is still occurring?

StormRel: [Build 1392]
Hey!
I'll answer in the order of paragraphs in the post (since this annoyingly contains multiple issues):
Loading screen thumbnails show up fine. They are perhaps a little closer to the ground and nearer to me than on PC, though.
The avatar hands are still misaligned with the controllers, in my experience exactly as shown in the post's images. This means if I touch the base of the controllers together the hands end up inside each other.
I don't have a Quest to compare performance, but I would expect the home world should run at a stable 72fps with a decently optimised avatar, ranked Good/Medium, though I do get 72-90 on average, it drops as I walk around the home world. It drops to 55-60 with the mirror enabled on half resolution, and then opening the menu tanks that down to 35fps. (looking at the graphs, it's GPU-bound, but the CPU doesn't have much headroom either.)
I cannot check the "doubled" own nametag as my right eye is kinda trash, but this is the first time I've heard of it.
All mobile platforms appear as Android now. As much as I'd like specific platform tags (Quest, Mobile, Pico, HTC, etc), the OS tag serves its purpose perfectly.
Resolution still seems to be lower than native, though with the current state of performance I doubt increasing it is a good idea.
So, to summarise the issues that remain:
- Misaligned avatar hands
- Low performance even in default home with Medium/Good avatars.
- Resolution seems lower than native.
I'm happy to test things if needed/possible.

StormRel: Minor update, I encountered a similar issue with the loading screen thumbnails the next session after posting, which disappeared after restarting the game.
The thumbnail in front of me used the "loading world..."/"connecting..." bubble's texture, while the one behind was a black square.
Also a couple pictures of the controller offsets; the wireframe is also in the incorrect location.

cubee_cb: The avatar hands alignment should be fixed soon. Can you confirm if performance is still struggling on pico after the last update? Any improvements?
cubee_cb
StormRel Thanks!
[Build 1393] I'm not seeing any improvement to the framerate. I did some more testing with the Pico's Metrics HUD (as I used the first time) and got similar results:
walking around: 75-90 with occasional dips to 55-60
looking at mirror: 50-60
looking at quick menu: 30-33
looking at quick menu + mirror: 25-30
looking at full-size worlds menu: 15-25
Mirrors still at half resolution.

cubee_cb Thanks for the response. Could you make a separate canny post about this? This one is mostly tied to the hand position displayed with Pico controllers (upcoming fix), but I can take a look at Pico performance separately and move the investigation there.

As of Build 1435, which just got released on Pico, it seems now the -controller- offsets are broken, but in the opposite direction; the in-game model is too far forward.
It's like, the avatar hands are now in-line with the in-game render model, but the render model has also been moved forward.
I feel like the avatar hands are pitched a little too far up. The fingers should be closer to the handle. If I remember correctly about a 20 degree wrist angle offset prior to this update made it feel right angle-wise.
They look to be about the same distance as before, see:
(annoyingly, YT made it into a short because it's square)
I've only played once since the update, I'll report back if there's any change from this state.
StormRel
cubee_cb Hey! Can you make a new canny post about this issue?
