When viewing a friend request via Notifications tab: if you click the ... and choose View Profile eye icon, and then the back arrow, it brings you back to the Notifications tab.

If you click the eye icon in the friend request, it quickly takes you to social and then to the user's profile, so that if you click the Back arrow, it takes you back to the Social tab and not Notifications.
