[1053] Occasional jerky player movement when testing on live
complete
bd_
Occasionally, when using 1053, other players have jerky movement, as if their movements aren't being interpolated. This affects individual users, and only after spending some time (tens of minutes) in the same instance.
Thus far, due in part to how it takes quite some time to repro, I've only reproed this with live users; while it's possible that this is a live incompatibility, given that this only affects a subset of users in the instance - and appears to be a lack of interpolation rather than problems with the IK data being received - it may be a bug in the beta itself.

In 2021.3.1, we made some (pretty sweeping!) network changes that should help mitigate or prevent this issue entirely.
We haven't observed this issue ourselves, nor have we seen verifiable reports of the issue since the release. As such, I'm marking this as Complete.
Notably, this is the issue we've addressed:
In a given instance with a number of users present, one or more users would eventually begin to exhibit IK "slideshowing", where IK update rate would slow down a lot and interpolation between IK updates would break or only have one interim step. This behavior would be observed by everyone in the instance on the same person-- in other words, if Person A was in this failure state, Persons B, C, D, etc would all
see the behavior. If you are observing other IK issues but they do not match the above description,
please create a new Feedback post.

Tupper - VRChat Head of Community: can confirm as well that I have not encountered the issue anymore since the update. (´∀`)b

Tupper - VRChat Head of Community:
I observed the same issue with IK slides in build 1114.
The drop frames seem to be less than in the previous version, but the movement of certain players from everyone present becomes jerky, and smooths out when the player reenters the world.

Networked IK update rate is really choppy after being in an instance for a while
qqqqqqqqqq
When you're in a lobby for like 2 hours or more, your Networked IK might be choppy. It only happens to some people. Video of how it looks like: https://streamable.com/en37qa

Just as an update, we're actively working on this one. We know it is quite annoying and one of the more disruptive and wide-spread bugs out there right now.

Tupper - VRChat Head of Community: Good to know! I seem to always be the one affected by this one for some reason. It's become sort of a meme at this point for people to point it out to me all the time. xD

keep having same issue in 1095.
Even if some players see this jerky movement, other players who enter later may see it fine.
ふゆ(fuyu)
I affecting and troubled by this issue on currently latest version.
My moving is jerky on after about ten of minutes as it is this bug report.
Other player moving and voice is working normally on during the problem to me.
My client FPS and ping is looks like a normally.
I'm not trying reconnecting instance, So I don't know it resolve this issue.
I think it seems this issue is appearing to me on high probability.
So I think possibility that My troubled issue rather like a my networking issues than this report bug.
At a later date I'm trying getting some network debugging data.
ふゆ(fuyu)
I found some things since than.
I can resolve this issue with reconnect to instance. (without restart client)
This issue is seems reproduction also Desktop mode.
And I attach network debug information.
ふゆ(fuyu)
It seems this issue is continuously occurring in latest stable build (1095).
(Sorry, I don't know improved it compared to before.)
I don't know whether this problem is related to network issues.
I will try to research this issue when I have time

Looking more into this bug, it appears to be master based as well as how long one has been in the instance without reloading.

Salbug: There was an older bug where players who were in an instance for a long time (4+ hours) would have jerky movement (in that case, the remote player has to rejoin to fix it).
In the bug I reported here, it can occur after only tens of minutes, and is fixed - or at least shuffled so different people have jerky movement - when the viewing/local player rejoins.

Other player's avatar frame drop.
Suno Ootsubo
About two hours after entering the world, the other player's avatar frame drop happen. I've tried reinstalling the game, erasing all of the cache, changing the resolution, changing the installation path of the game, and trying many things, but it doesn't go back to the way it was. The problem occurred about a month ago, and after about two hours in one world, only the movement of other players, not the game itself, seems to be cut off. The strange thing about this is that the movement of desktop users seems to be cut off, but the movement of VR users seems quite smooth. Instead of a frame drop of the game itself, it makes a movement that is likely to be seen when there is a network problem. (I've tested it with different games, but I don't see any problems with graphics cards, memory, CPUs, or networks. Reconnect to the world make this issue to be fine for about 2 hours, but again it continue over and over. I don't know the cause, and I'm a Korean user, but there's no any information about this issue in Korea VRChat forum, so I post my issue here to get answer.

This is consistent for me since the update. Every world no matter how many players after 10-20 minutes, players movements get jerky. And it seems like it might get worse the longer I stay? Some players seem more jerky than others to me, but it might depend on how long they've been in the world? If you need a guinea pig, it seems to be consistent for me 100% of the time in all worlds with other peoples movements.

Low Framerate Tracking
kITE_
This is an extremely consistent bug for me, that I cannot see but am constantly asked about. Every single instance im in no matter what world it is, no matter how many people are in it no matter how new the instance is or how long anybody else has been there, after about 20 or 30 minutes of myself being in ANY instance no matter the conditions, my IK for everybody will update at low framerates. the only thing i can do to fix this is rejoining the instance but then after 20 more minutes my IK will be seen as this choppy low frame mess. I am constantly asked about it and constantly having it mentioned to me by everyone I am around, a long time ago I had this bug but it was fixed, and i cannot remember if it was before networked IK or not when i had this bug last. and im not sure when this started appearing for me again either. here is a video of it https://streamable.com/8s6k0a
I remember tupper mentioning a long time ago that this really rare bug happened to one other person he knew of, I sent him my logs and he looked into it, although that was a long time ago and I feel like that is irrelevant now, however
I have heard from some friends that this specific bug has happened for at least 1 or 2 other people in our big circle of friends, although I myself have yet to see this bug in action on anybody else.
I have very stable internet
more stable than people who have more consistent tracking and worse internet, so internet cannot be a problem so I am not sure what can possibly be causing this.
and no it is not a shader pelase stop asking me this you mean mean mean unfunny people
