complete
naqtn
Add a gifting feature that allows users to buy avatars for other users.
Though this idea was already discussed in the FAQ thread in the forum ( https://ask.vrchat.com/t/avatar-marketplace-faq-for-sellers/43555 )
Q: What about gifting avatars? (Asked by @Hammey)
A: Not yet, but it’s a popular feature request and we’d like to do it.
, I will post this as a reminder and voting place.

You can now gift avatars to your friends! Thank you for the suggestion.
By the way - gifting avatars also allows you to earn rewards in our Winter 2025 holiday campaign!🌲

Fax It doesn't work from the website; there's nothing I can do to make it work. If I try to do it from the in-game shop, I get an error message saying that the owner cannot give away their own product from the shop.
All you had to do was add an option from the marketplace menu on the website dashboard to be able to donate a copy of the avatar to a user.

imoristudio Thank you for pointing that out!
You can buy avatars from the world stores of certain avatar creators. For example:
However, the avatar marketplace is currently not available on VRChat.com, and you can't view avatar listings directly.
I created a feature request for buying (and gifting) avatars through the website: https://feedback.vrchat.com/avatar-marketplace/p/allow-users-to-view-and-buy-avatar-listings-on-vrchatcom
Separately, avatar sellers requested the ability to gift their own avatars to other users. This feature request is tracked on our seller feedback board: https://feedback.vrchat.com/avatar-marketplace-sellers/p/gift-your-own-avatars-free-to-people

We'd love to do this!

Tupper - VRChat Head of Community I wish one could also be able to gift their own private avatars as well in the case where their friend decides to make an avatar from scratch that only their friend and them could use or even their community without marking them as public, or an option for public avatars to be not discoverable in the website's search bar or even search worlds without knowing the avatar's ID first.

VexaMoonlight A more efficient route would be a system that can generate tokens for temporary upload access to someone else's account without forking over login details.
