Seconding the other remark about Peter Thiel's ties to Persona, and adding a bit of my own to this. His ideology is based on first-wave eugenics and he runs his companies in accordance with those views. Given the large amount of LGBT people on VRChat, I'd rather not be handing over my ID to people who want to use it to try to kill me and my friends, especially after lying about not retaining it. Pinky promises of deletion aren't enough to make it safe to hand over my ID, especially when his host country is too busy taking bribes from him to give him consequences for his actions.

To add on to this, they also have direct ties to Peter Thiel, founder of Palantir, who freely admits (brags, really) that his government and military surveillance products are used to kill people. The fact that VRChat even has Persona as an option at all, much less the only option, for "Age Assurance" (your latest euphemism for identifying and specifically de-anonymizing users in flagrant disregard for the very concept of a Privacy Policy) is a tangible physical threat to your users.
