Manual Authentication Bypass by Hosts
SplitScream
What is it:
Allow for players to request for manual approval to join instances with authentication requirements. This will allow the hosts or groups to manually filter applicants and allow for guests to join for the session or permanent approval for future group sessions.
Why:
VRChat is a social game: Excluding people who are just starting out and prevent SHARP loss in player retention from the Government ID requirement to participate in events or go to public spaces with other adults. New players will NOT understand what it is for and WILL feel uncomfortable, as even Facebook does not need government IDs on signup as it is a death spiral to ease of onboarding. Linkedin is the only company did it moderately okay but they are a requirement if you want to get a job and not die. VRChat does not have the same sway
How:
Allow players to request to join authenticated sessions and allow the hosts to approve them. The host can change their mind at any time and kick the player and add a reason for kick. This is exactly how the invite system already works.

I see a similar request in another post, so I will avoid just copying my comment. However, this is really important as a pillar of "things that help a community vet people" and not "mass data harvesting that conveniently gives hosts some crumbs so that they side with VRC".

Arctic TortieI I believe you mean
I could see why but that one has a different explanation in place
To simplify
- This post is to allow a bypass by anyone
- the other post is for group whitelist bypass

This is good proposal.
Whole point of verification is to make sure that user you talking to is 18+...
But if I already sure they are 18+, why should I require verification for them?

I've been friends with people for 7+ years and have been invited and visited their weddings, bars, diners, etc. I'm pretty sure the bearded man who's complaining about his mortgage is over 13
