I am an age verified minor who verified using an ID so I can get the check on the Trust Shield so people know I am not under 13, and my age was verified through VRChat.

Recently, the new UI update has taken the check away and only allows 18+ verified users to show off an age verification badge, making it harder for verified minors to legitimately show they are verified and over the age of 13.

My suggestion:

Please restore the visible indicator for minors to show they are age verified, this could be either:

• Bringing back the old check on the trust shield for age verified users

or

• Adding a dedicated badge, similar to “18+ Verified”, but changed so it is clearly labeled for minors. My ideas are:

• Verified -18

• Verified 13-17

Why does this all matter?

The original “Age Verified” badge was removed in update 2025.1.2, due to confusion. Minors claimed to be 18+, and another player could not confirm it, as the badge was too broad. A clearly labeled age verified minor badge would solve this issue, making it obvious the user is under 18, while allowing the underage user to show their verified.

This helps instance moderators enforce their 18+ instances by protecting against minors claiming to be over the age of 18. Plus, it allows moderators to quickly allow and identify players who are age verified 13+ in instances where the minimum age is set to 13 and uses age checks using Date of Birth or other measures to ensure the user is over 13. Personally, I would rather give my ID to VRChat for a one-time verification than have to give my personal information out to random users every time I join an instance.

Bringing back that verification badge and possibly revamping it would be helpful and appreciated by many players, including instance moderators.
