Elbow tracking assymetric
emperorofmars
Knee tracking works beautifully, elbow not so much. My trackers are mounted symmetrically just above the elbow joint. They show in steamvr in the correct position, as does every other tracker and controller, no offset or anything. In calibration, the balls are where they should be, but once i press the triggers, my left elbow is pointed inwards. It still moves independently from the right one, but its just offset inwards.
Swapping the trackers doesn't change behaviour, neither does rotating irl.
(I used the same two trackers in the same playsession on the knees and the elbows.)
In the pictures, im pressing both elbows against my hip, the hip is where it should be.

Similar to the other issue with arm extension, this one would also be good to check with a 360 rotation IRL to see if you're able to reverse the direction of the asymmetry by facing in a different direction IRL.

Kung: Here it seems to be actually affected by irl rotation, turning about 90 degrees to the right. Switching the elbow trackers, or putting them above and below the elbow joint didnt affect anything.
The same trackers work perfectly for the knees, with no offset at any irl rotation.

emperorofmars: There was discussion on discord that trackers paired to vive tracker dongles may suffer from a real-space offset, whereas devices paired to a headset's internal "dongle" don't suffer from this issue.
It would be a good idea to hold your elbow tracker in your hand simultaneously while holding your hand controller and spin around IRL while observing the render models of those devices in the SteamVR overlay. Please report if they do or don't weave in small circles relative to each other.
A further step in testing this would be to pair your elbow trackers to your headset, and controllers to your external dongles. Then repeat the controller-held-against-HMD 360 rotation to see if the controller now begin to weave in small circles. And then also observe if the elbow tracker asymmetry is removed when those trackers are paired to the HMD.

Kung: One of the elbow trackers has indeed a wobble of about 4-5cm. I'll test my other trackers as well and swap them around and see again.
