[11922] Feet IK overrides animations in desktop / 3pt
complete
lackofbindings
Been on the IK beta for a while, just logged in after today's patch (11922) and experiencing a strange new issue with sitting/crouching/laying animations.
Previously when the locomotion layer goes into one of the sitting/crouching/laying/etc animations when not in full body, the feet follow the animation. After this latest patch after a moment the feet are always overridden by the IK even in desktop. This affects all AV3 avatars.
The feet are being forced to follow the footstep IK at all times. Whereas previously they would only do that when standing still and upright.
Really easy to repro, just put on any AV3 avatar on desktop and lie down. The feet will continue to run footstep IK and the avatar will double over and/or crunch up. Even visible with the default lying animation.

available in future release
This has a quick fix applied in build 11923. There will likely be a bit more work here in the future so I'll keep an eye out for this again after future changes. Feel free to post more in here if the issue returns.

Kung: I am one of the people facing this problem. I have an additional report.
In IK Beta, the problem is solved when crouching/laying, but the problem has not been resolved, at least not when standing.
The attached image is a desktop confirmation.
This avatar has a IDLEAnimation set for StandingLocomotion, but the lower limbs seem to be overwritten by IK.
It seems difficult to see the problem when the Avatar Descriptor is forcing tracking of the LowerBody.
I would appreciate it if you could check.

Kung: Just checked in desktop mode with my avatar, still force using Auto-Footstep in 2022.1.2p4. the problem looks same as fina's video.

fina: As far as I know this is intentional and has been the behavior since forever. If not when standing then when would footstep IK run?
fina
lackofbindings: I have noted a problem with footstep on desktop (Non-VR) when Auto-FootStep is disabled, ignoring the IDLE Animation set for LocomotionStanding.
This was not a problem prior to build 11922, but seems to be fixed as of today. (Thanks Kung!)

Heyo, this is happening for me too, I wanted to add that it's happening when sitting as well, my avatar stays in the place of the chair but the feet continue to move, tested in room of the rain in those grab-able chairs. I have mostly default locomotion except I changed the animations for prone to a different sit animation. Edit: also happening when in main menu as well, where the feet would be locked to the ground before, they aren't locked and my whole body moves when using space drag in menu. This is all in VR mode.

Was also going to mention this when i noticed it once i got on. My locomotion override pack was dysfunctional except while in motion. Thank you for posting.

Yep, nice catch this is a new bug. Thanks for the report.

Kung: can i make a suggestion? Since it needs fixing anyway, can we get a Parameter (Bool) to turn on/off auto footstep during playing? I am asking specifically for a bool here, since during creating the locomotion layers you have cases where you want to enable/disable auto footsteps. Currently we can disable/enable it on avatar basis, but while I want them in half body, i would love to be able to turn them off in desktop, since the auto footstep IK strongly disagrees with standing poses in desktop where the hip is tilted or the feet moved differently (attaching picture of a custom pose i would love to have in desktop, but with auto footsteps on sadly a no-go.)

Merged in a post:
[11922] Hip breaks during custom prone animation
SpiritedSpy
Attempting to use an avatar using GogoLoco, or any custom prone override animation, and going prone ingame. Legs will crumple into the hip region. Reverts upon going back to standing. Occurs in VR aswell

This is an issue even if you have not customized the locomotion layer, it affects all AV3 avatars
