The world has a toggleable spatialized 2D audio source located almost 200m away (left of spawn), with a range of 500m
Click the cube in front of you to toggle the audio source
toggle it off
toggle it back on and observe that the sound is significantly louder

I'll also note that the audio (even when not bugged) is also louder in the steam audio beta, but I think a canny report exists for that already
