Currently there's no official way to backup and restore persistence data which can be a pretty big issue when you've spent many hours in a game world and find your progress wiped one day or encounter a game breaking bug that softlocks your progress. Your only option is to contact VRC support and wait and hope that there's still a backup of your persistence data.
A solution to this would be to add an optional persistence backup system for worlds. If world creators choose to enable it, players will have the option to create a backup copy of the persistence data for the current world and be able to restore it at any time. The copy would have a timestamp and an optional player-editable note. It would also be kept entirely server side to prevent editing.
This feature would be off by default, so if world creators don't want it, they can simply ignore it and leave it off for their worlds.
