Different coloured notifications for non-friends/friends/favourites

For join/leave/portal notifications, different colours for notifications depending on the status of the user in relation to yourself would be neat.
Something like maybe...
Grey > non-friends
Blue > friends
Yellow/Golden > friends in favourites lists

I agree, it's nice to see join/leave. But can't tell quickly if it's a friend I need to say Hi to or someone else.
