Previously, when changing custom shield settings, such as enabling avatars for specific ranks, the changes would take effect immediately upon closing the window. However, with the newly redesigned version, this no longer happens. The changes may eventually apply to certain avatars, but others won’t take effect until you perform an action that triggers an avatar reload, such as hiding/showing an avatar, adjusting performance settings, or rejoining the world.
