[Crowdin] Do not delete strings from the database
nekochanfood
The string that was previously on the VRChat Plus payment processing screen, which explains what to do if the overlay does not appear, has been removed and a split string has been added in its place.
We tried to reference it from an earlier translation, but as it had been removed, we had to reference it from a screenshot taken earlier.
Please ensure that this does not happen again. Each string may have been discussed in some form.
Strings that are no longer used should be labelled 'Deprecated'. That way, when improved strings are added, you can translate them with reference to the translation and discussion of the original improved string.

But I agree it's better to mark explicitly as "Deprecated", than removing completely.

I wonder is it possible to just move those strings with all comments and context to separate file? like Removed.csv?

I think perserving legacy strings has its pros and cons. It perservs information and references, but too much of it adds unnecessary work for new localization efforts. A potential sweet spot would be to perserve legacy strings for one or two updates, and delete them at a threshold.

As I remember, this issue happened for more than 4 times…The question is… they might delete or update something suddenly, and we will not know what happened, these will cause to strings unlock or translation disappear… and they doesn't let us to keep a local backup.
Maybe we can ask the Devs for the CSV file… I did once, and no reply to me.
