Bumping this post as I think being able to 'wear' or 'preview' the imposter in the same way you can directly preview "Fallback Shaders" would be useful for debugging and previewing how others see your avatar's imposter in motion.

With fallback avatars going away in the near future and being replaced with imposters, having access to better imposter debugging / previewing in-game will be needed.

Even if the toggle is only local and remote users can't see it, adding a new button to the action menu (see screenshot) and to the settings so you can preview what your avatar's imposter looks like (if it has them generated) would help diagnose imposter issues.

It's sometimes difficult to tell from the imposter preview in the menu if something is wrong, as some issues might only be noticed when the avatar is in certain positions, such as sitting, crawling, dancing, etc.

Being able to preview wearing an avatar's imposter makes it easier to test it using animations, such as using GoGo Loco when in desktop or using 3-point tracking, or for players who use FBT to see how the imposter moves with their full-body tracking.

I agree! Moreover, many VRC communities that do regular meetings and gatherings often ask to use optimized avatars to keep everyone's performance at the decent level. The ability to turn an impostor for everyone regardless of their settings and platforms would not only allow you to use your trademark avatar but also help you to keep the performance for the entire instance.

At least test how it looks, that would be nice.
