CAMERA: tweaks/features to further improve functionality - "Burst-Shot Mode", "StreamCAM UI-Toggle"
tw1l1ght75
FYI: sry I threw both requests into the same post, will clean that up/seperate them after catching some sleep!
.
Got 2 (imo) sm0l but QOL-effective CAM-features in the back of my mind since forever - maybe now, as devs are working on the cam-code bc animoji anyways - might be an opportunity to consider implementing these? TIA <3
1 - burst shot-mode: have the 5s timer "stick" so the CAM basically takes image-series. every x seconds a new shot (1-5s would be great time intervals imo) so you actually have your hands free
2 - stream-cam: add the option to NOT show the ingame camera seek-UI (toggle to hide/unhide it after you set your cams-pov), as it is quite resource-heavy when being rendered onscreen.
and - when dancing/twirling around (see vid) I cannot find a place to park the cam-UI so it does NOT a) annoy me when in my POV and b) DOES safe a few fps - which could make the difference between fluid 60fps recording or dropping below & lag
thx @artemus for getting me to describe in detail ;)
thoughts?

TLDRs
BurstShot: Automatically trigger a photo every 'user-selectable timeframe (~3-5 predefined values)' until manual stopping (or the storage-device is full [
bursts
])StreamCAM: there IS a way to get 5-10% additional frametime "reserve/headroom" out of our current rigs - for FREE - (not) rendering the streamcams UI could be exactly that reserve for full-load situations

Scratch #2 - thats off the list... but #1 still would be soooooo sweet! <3
Just got informed the actual technical term for this function is "TimeLapse-Mode", so forget about "Burst Shot" again and go with "TimeLapse" :)
Automatically trigger a photo every 'user-selectable timeframe (~3-5 predefined values)' until manual stopping (or the storage-device is full [bursts])
TLDR#2: So you dont have to cramp-grab the cam-UI while smashing the trigger every second just to end up with a scuffed "hand in picture"-pic.
Trash/Keeper-Ratio: 75%|25%
edit: attached a couple more "cam-grab-cramp" jank-piXx

How about stream camera for people without VR headsets as well who want to use their PC to stream VRChat onto Twitch using OBS in a way that looks similar to being on a VR headset without issues. Controls can easily be based off of the Fly camera mode on VRChat without having too much issues. Also for many people using VRChat to get started on streaming (or vtubing) it would be great as then they could use it as a way to
try
to have a sub goal of say "Get a VR Headset and FBT." that they can then later use (it's better than say not being able to start without having a VR Headset nor FBT on day 1 either. I think we all know of a lot of streamers who could benefit from this as well.tw1l1ght75
Artemus: So in short, you want a burst mode and... stream cam to not show the UI? 👀
tw1: exactly!
vrclense does both afaik, but imo its learning-curve is way too steep for something totally making sense for a lot of "casual" users like me

1-
the picture-series mode would prevent you taking 500 pics in 5min while holding on to the cam-gui so you actually CAN take a pic every 0.5s or so and deleting like 450 right after bc your hand does show in "grabbing UI" position
using the 5s timer multiple times/tries "takes forever", shoots a scuffed pic and needs you to hit it the 5s button again for another pretzel-pic
just make it stick when enabled & maybe have a couple different timing-intervals... 0.5, 1.0, 3.0, 5.0s for example
