[1515] Camera resolution setting ignored by default
available in future release
ThistleBunny
I have my default photo resolution set to 4k (3840x2160). I have this set both in config.json and in the camera's option menu.
Since 1515 came out, photos I take default to being 1920x1080, even though the in-game camera menu still shows it's set to 4k resolution. Setting the resolution to something else in game and than setting it back to 4k corrects the issue for that session, but it then goes back to outputting 1920x1080 the next time the game is restarted.
Removing the resolution configuration from config.json appears to have no impact on this.

The next beta version will have a fix for this. Note that the incorrect 1080p setting is not saved to disk and is thus not permanent, so once the fix lands your correct previous settings will automatically be retained and selected again.

[1516] Camera Resolution reset to FHD on each launch
kb10uy
On each VRChat launch, 'Photo Resolution' setting seems to be reset to FHD determined, determined of actual setting value.
Repro.
- Launch VR Chat and take some photos without changing 'Photo Resolution'. This results into an FHD photo.
- Change 'Photo Resolution' other than FHD and take again. The photo will be saved with selected resolution.
- Exit VRChat.
- Do 1. Again, we have FHD photo again.
(Attached file shows the 1. and 2.)
-----------------------------------
In Build 1516, the camera's shooting resolution is internally reset to FHD every time it is started.
Even if 4K or the like is selected on the UI, shooting continues in FHD from immediately after starting up until the shooting resolution is changed.
Reproduction steps:
- Shoot immediately after starting VRChat. It becomes FHD regardless of the selected state in the UI.
- Change the shooting resolution appropriately and shoot again. At this time, it is output at the selected resolution.
- When you restart VRChat and shoot, 1. The phenomenon occurs again. Right after starting up it was 2. It doesn't reach the resolution set in.
(Attached file is 1. and 2. It shows the execution results)
