no notifications from app

not receiving any vrchat notifications, such as events, etc.
i've confirmed all app and system notifications are set, and basically set the same way as other apps, that do give notifications without the app running.
running the latest version of android / samsung one ui on zfold 8.

Yeah no other notifications arexoming thru. I have received group announcements which i reviewed after they were sent and didnt see on app.

test: I left the app running, had a friend booped me, and received a notification message. I closed the app, had another boop sent, and I was able to receive that one without the app running (in foreground). i'll see if I receive community / group messages and update here. thanks!
