In head lock mode in FBT, neck's angle can be strange
complete
Magpie
In head lock mode, the neck can sometimes default to bending at a strange angle. As you can see by how the choker looks in these screenshots, in the first image its bent back in head lock mode. The second is the default position in t-pose mode.
I believe this happens when the neck isn't straight in the rig. I tried straightening out the neck in blender (image 3 pre-straighten, image 4 post-straighten, top bone is head, middle is neck, bottom is chest) and it appeared to resolve the issue, but I assume not all avatars with this potential problem can easily be fixed simply because the author doesn't have the know how nor uploaded it.

Hopefully you saw improvement during the recent IK-Beta. All IK-Beta changes are now released to live as of release 2023.3.2, so I'm marking this as complete

Please check if you still have this issue in the current ik-beta

It's a bit hard to see in your screenshots, so I'm not completely sure if this is the same issue, but in an upcoming update lock-head mode will have some improvements that will also affect the neck angle.
Liselotte
Before the last update it was having the forced neck straightening issue when head lock mode was selected, but it was fine with hip lock mode.
After the update now both modes result neck being force straightened in vertical position.
The armature on the avatars tested is the same as the pictures provided above.
On my pictures:
1 is avatar in T-pose with no applied calibration.
2 the same avatar with applied calibration.
3 another avatar in T-pose without applied calibration.
4 the second avatar with applied calibration.
ps: build 11748
