Blocked avatars height correction
complete
GearBell
When in safe mode and all avatars are blocked, it becomes awkward if you continue to socialize to what you see as eye level ghost avatars yet to them you are talking to the air, they are looking straight up at you thinking "why are you looking up? Im down here." Is it possible to make the ghost avatars match the height viewpoint descriptor of the individuals, so that thier heights remain but thier avatars are still those ghost stickman things?

I'd like to see this functionality applied to the blue crystal 'busy downloading' placeholders as well.
I think this functionality should be implemented along with an option for users to customize the 'extent' to which it's applied. For example:
Enabled: Placeholder avatar height is fully scaled.
Limited: Placeholder avatar height is scaled but the maximum and minimum size is clamped between 30 cm (~1 ft) and 3 m (~10 ft).
Disabled: Placeholder avatar height is not scaled.
I imagine this could be done without the client even needing to first download the avatar. If the VRChat servers stored metadata about avatars such as the bounding box size or the Y coordinate of the View Position, then this could be sent to the client so that the client wouldn't need to download the avatar in order to evaluate its size before replacing it with a scaled placeholder.

Scale performance grey robots
Vidália
Scale those default grey hidden/unoptimized avatars to the right scale based on eye level.
Or at least make it the average VRC avatar height rather then real world height.. it's so awkward to see that huge 1.8m floating torso while the rest of the avatars are around 1.6m and lower.
But obviously correct height would be better.
And as an even fancier goal, full body grey robots!
And even fancier just custom for each player!!

Note: this is about automatically "blocked" avatars due to performance, not avatar people hide manually.
Would be nice if we would be allowed to provide fallback avatars too... just like you can upload avatar that is different on quest/pc. It would be nice to be able to upload simplified version of avatar for people using performance limit options.
GotoFinal
That comment was merged from topic about automatically blocked avatars due to performance... not if someone hide you on purpose. So it just about having a fallback to simpler version of model when possible.

PCVR only Avatar scale
Casey Hancock
Currently on the Quest all the PC only avatars are substituted with the Error Robot, but they're all the same height. I think it would be nice if even if Quest users can't see the correct Avatar that the substitute Avatar should at least scale to the size of the Avatar it's replacing.

They could also do some cool stuff with the SDK like have a "face photo" for the avatar which gets mapped onto the robot face if you checked that box and took a second photo, just of your face, with another camera during the upload.

That would be great because its pretty awkward talking to a robot, wondering why hes always looking up, only to find youve been looking past them the entire time XD

Same for blocked PC avatars.

This is pretty essential now with Quest. I hang out with people with PC-only avatars but I’m just left wondering where their head actually is. The default gray robot avatar needs to be adjusted to at least match their point of view.

Danjel: that is a great point, never thought of that....
